Who really delivers the holidays?

When we think of holiday deliveries, a man in a red suit with a sleigh quickly comes to mind. But perhaps just as magical as St. Nick himself and as numerous and industrious as his elves, are individuals that are often take for granted: professional truck drivers.

Today, shopping is all about convenience and efficiency, which is especially evident during the holidays. One-click purchase. Same-day delivery.

But that last-minute holiday gift doesn’t just show up the very next day by chance. And, there’s no mystery as to how the grocery store has the ingredients to Grandma’s famous pumpkin pie.

They are delivered by hardworking professional truck drivers. According to the American Trucking Associations (ATA), last year, professional drivers delivered the turkey, cranberries, and rolls for every Thanksgiving dinner in America.

This year, our favorite holiday traditions will continue to be made possible by the more than 3.5 million men and women that crisscross our country every day to make sure we have the goods at our doorstep and the products we need at the local store.

Professional drivers will transport 45 million turkeys and nearly 30 million Christmas trees this year.

Their tremendous dedication and hard work behind-the-scenes is truly what makes our beloved holiday traditions possible.

As you gather around your table on Thanksgiving, shop for the perfect gift on Black Friday, or string the lights on a beautiful tree, don’t forget to include professional drivers on your list of people to be thankful for.

Thank you professional drivers for delivering the holidays – and truly, every day!
