Fueling More Than Tanks: Team Members Make Better Days in Challenging Times

Essential workers across the country have stepped up to keep the country going and help us stay safe. They are our everyday heroes on the front lines – from professional drivers, to retail workers, food producers and health care providers.

Among those on the front lines are our team members and fuel delivery drivers whom are working hard to make sure our stores remain open to provide the fuel, food and services our guests need while on the road. Their dedication to service and safety is incredible and we thank them for going above and beyond during these challenging times.

From outstanding cleanliness and a friendly smile to a life-saving action, many guests have reached out to thank our team members for their valiant efforts. Some of the stories are truly inspiring and have lifted our spirits, so we wanted to recognize a few of our team members for being our heroes in the field.

Alyssa Store 2

“Alyssa has taken on extra shifts and hours recently due to her senior year being put on pause. She has truly helped us in this COVID-19 situation as she has truly stepped up and helped with tremendous positivity and a great smile. She is an incredible team member and coach for new team members. She always goes out of her way to carry on a positive conversation with our guests and professional drivers to help make their day better and more positive for all, which is extremely refreshing during this time in our world. Alyssa, thank you for all you do and we are proud to have you on the team!”-Regional Manager

Lymon Store 697

“Lymon has really stepped up to the plate during this time. He has been taking on additional shifts and responsibilities to keep America moving. His leadership on evening shifts in particular has helped the store with food, safety and sanitation. He helped Pilot Company crude drivers by preparing bottles of crew cleaner and tool boxes, so they could continue to operate. Great job, Lymon.” –Regional Manager

Derek, Kerri & Trisia Store 518

“The maintenance guy working currently at this store location is doing an amazing job. He’s working his tail off to keep the showers clean for us truck drivers and now he is out in the parking lot cleaning. There were two ladies that chipped in last night and this morning and we appreciate them. Everything is hard out here right now and we are so impressed. They are doing a great job!” –Guest

Juan & Rosie Store 266

“Juan was made aware from his GSL Rosie, that it seemed like a driver may be having trouble.  He immediately approached the driver, who stated that he was having trouble breathing, and that his chest was hurting.  Juan asked Rosie to call an ambulance right away and instructed the team to get a CPR mask in case it was needed.  At one point, Juan said he looked like he stopped breathing and performed light compressions to assist until the ambulance arrived.  The driver regained consciousness, and the ambulance arrived shortly after to transport him to the hospital.  Another JB Hunt driver came in later to thank Juan, and let him know that his friend did indeed suffer a heart attack, and that Juan and Rosie saved his life.” –Store Manager
