We at Pilot strive to meet your refueling needs wherever you’re headed – we’ve done this successfully for nearly 65 years and plan to do so for the next 65+ years.
Our country is currently in the early days of an energy transition, especially in transportation, with electric vehicles (EVs) now representing 5% of U.S. new car sales. Even so, range anxiety (i.e., will I be able to charge my EV on the road so that can I get to where I want to go?) remains a top concern of potential EV buyers. This is why we are excited to announce our partnership with General Motors to build a national, coast-to-coast network of fast EV chargers.
Our new network of 2,000 fast charging stalls at up to 500 of our Pilot and Flying J travel centers will be open to all EV brands. These travel centers will feature four to six charging stations using DC fast chargers capable of delivering 350 kW—the fastest on the market today. We selected EVgo, the nation’s largest public fast charger provider, to install, operate and maintain these chargers. By tapping this expertise and with our ability to choose from 750+ Pilot and Flying J locations, we’re going to build a reliable and robust network quickly and at scale. The first chargers will go live in early 2023, and most will be operational by the end of 2025.

− We’ve got great restaurants and deli offerings, clean restrooms and WiFi. Our stores are well lit and open 24/7 with helpful team members on hand.
− Even better, we recently announced our “New Horizons”’ initiative to invest $1B to fully upgrade our travel centers with more premium amenities that aren’t currently available at most fast EV charging locations.
− With these investments, you can expect safe, healthy and 24/7 service, access to expanded seating and lounge areas, updated and modernized restrooms, on-site restaurants including our signature fresh hot and cold deli, premium coffee, and shopping for travel essentials and souvenirs while your vehicle is charging.
