We are proud sponsors of Furapalooza, Knoxville’s first pet friendly 5K and one-mile walk. Benefitting H.A.L.T. (Humans and Animals Learning Together) and the U.S. Cellular Soccer Complex, the 5K will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.
The H.A.L.T program is vital to the community because it provides therapeutic intervention for at-risk adolescents through dog obedience training. We’re excited to see all our friends, families, co-workers and their pets on Saturday to support such a good cause.
There will be five dog-themed awards:
- Halloweenie: Get in the spirit of Halloween with some fabulous decor or a creative costume.
- Smokey: Show some Volunteer spirit with a Vol dog.
- Greyhound: First and fastest dog to cross the finish line in the 5k.
- Clifford: Biggest dog in show.
- Toto: Smallest dog in show.
The cost is $30 for adults and $15 for children. Pets have free admission and will receive a Lickety Stick, chew toy, dog treat and bandana for participation. Pilot Food Marts and Pepsico will donate post-race food for everyone to enjoy.
