Our $1 Billion Investment Is You

Over the past year, we went out and asked our guests and team members how we could improve their experience with us. Based on the feedback we received, we’re launching a new three-year project called New Horizons where we’ll be placing store remodels in high gear – overhauling more than 400 Pilot and Flying J travel centers nationwide.

“This is the largest investment in store modernization in Pilot’s history,” Shameek Konar, Pilot Company CEO, said. “We’re listening [to our guests and team members] by making this $1 billion investment – its our commitment to our guests, our team members, and the communities we serve.”

This initiative is now underway with more than 50 of our stoles being renovated in 2022. Key enhancements will include:

Store exteriors and interiors – Top-to-bottom overhauls from the curb to the counter, including energy-efficient lighting for well-lit parking lots, updated branding, modernized store features and accents, and durable materials that’ll leave a lasting impression on guests.

Restrooms, showers, and laundry – Modernized facilities with new tile, fresh paint, more space, and brighter lighting.

Seating and lounges – Expanded spaces for guests to enjoy along with additional dining areas.

Retail, food, and beverage – Revamped store layouts that’ll help bring more variety and Pilot’s signature fresh deli items, such as pizza, homestyle meals, grab-and-go foods, and premium coffee to more of our locations.

New technology – Retail and fueling technology upgrades that’ll increase efficiency and help our team members further personalize the guest experience.

Improved team member areas – Reconfigured and expanded breakrooms and workspaces – new kitchen equipment, back-office solutions, and more – to make our team members’ jobs easier so that they can focus on providing the best possible service.

Future innovations – Equipping our stores with fueling alternatives such as EV charging stations and strategies to help support low emission and zero emission vehicles.

In addition to the remodels, we’ll also be giving back to our local communities where are stores are located. This year alone, we’ll be donating half a million dollars to support local school districts, helping to provide students with equal access to educational technology. Stay tuned for what’s on the horizon as we revamp our stores, making any and every stop with us the ultimate experience.
