School is back in session, virtually and in person, and so is our internship program at the Support Center. Just like everything else this year, our internship program looks a bit different.
Each summer we hold an internship program at our Support Center. However, due to COVID-19, plans changed to keep our team members and interns safe. We weren’t going to let this stop us from providing an incredible learning and professional experience for students, so we moved our internship online and to begin in September.
We have long-awaited to virtually meet our 19 interns and are excited to have them join us! Our interns are supporting various departments, like merchandising, logistics, operations support, food and beverage, talent acquisition, construction and design and more.
Interns picked up Pilot Company swag, laptops and other supplies they would need to do their internship on Monday during our drive-by welcoming at our Support Center. This gave our team and the interns an opportunity to meet one another, while safely social distancing.
Once the interns got settled in at home, they kicked off the week learning about the history of the company, getting tips on how to be successful from former interns and hearing from our Senior Director of Talent during the leader welcome.
Over the next eight weeks, interns will work on projects in their departments, watch leadership panels, attend professional development sessions and do community service, all while working from home. We know our interns are up for the challenge and we can’t wait to be with them every step of the way.
