We are always amazed by the incredible actions our team members take to make a better day for our guests. Nancy at Pilot Travel Center 130 in Richfield, Ohio is no exception and is fueling life’s journeys in a very unique and fun way.
A few years ago, Nancy’s granddaughter was going to a tea party and needed to make a hat for the occasion. Nancy enjoyed making the hat so much that she has continued making them. For the last three years, she has worn a new hat to work every single day.
Not only does Nancy love making the hats, but guests and team members love them, too! Recently, a guest reached out to us to about Nancy’s upbeat personality and the awesome hats that she wears every day. “The hats make you laugh and Nancy’s upbeat personality makes you have a better day,” said Dago.
Nancy’s hats are anything but ordinary with amazing and creative designs that are hard to miss when you’re at Store 130. From holiday-themed to stuffed animals and lots of fun colors and tool, her hats are sure to make any person smile.
In fact, guests love her hats so much that they have offered to buy them from her. “If I don’t wear a new hat each day, I feel like I’m taking something away from the drivers. The hats make the drivers smile and I do it solely for their benefit,” said Nancy. Her passion for making these hats has positively impacted both her team members and our guests.
“Nancy is, without a doubt, the heartbeat and soul of Pilot #130! When she is on vacation, I have a multitude of guests asking ‘Where is the hat lady?’ and ‘When will she be back?’ I know the hats are what draws people’s attention, but it’s the personality and great sense of humor that makes it all work. I can honestly say, without any hesitation, that she truly cares about not only the team here but the people that walk through our doors every day! It’s almost impossible to have an interaction with Nancy and not walk away without a smile,” said Ron, TCGM of Store 130
Our vice president of operations, Allison Cornish, recently visited Store 130 and got to see first-hand Nancy’s amazing hats and how she’s making a better day for our guests. “It’s great to see Team Members take pride in the service they provide our Guests and have fun at work!”
“I love being able to make a better day for our team and every guest that comes into Store 130,” said Nancy.
