Family is most important to us here at Pilot Flying J. At our roots, we are a family business. While we consider all of our team members to be like family, we are also honored to have quite a few team members that are actually family members. One of our amazing father-son duos is Moises and Cy Capule, who are professional drivers in Midland, Texas.
This Father’s Day, in recognition and appreciation of the impact Dads make on our lives, we’re inspired to spotlight Moises and the many generations of professional drivers in the industry.
After serving in the army, Moises started working with us to transport fuel in Midland, Texas and has continued to fuel our stores for 5 years. A driver for a total of 13 years, Moises found himself in this industry because he really enjoyed the work and was able to provide for his family. He had immigrated to the U.S. when his son, Cy, was only two years old. Following in his father’s footsteps, Cy also joined the army. After 18 years apart, Moises was reunited with his son when Cy completed his military service.
Cy was looking for work after the military, so Moises introduced him to professional driving and taught him a lot about the profession and the skills he’s learned on the job. Through this experience, they were able to make up for some of the time that they had lost.
“It has been a great experience being able to work at Pilot Flying J and sharing the same profession as my son,” says Moises.
Moises says he feels fortunate to work in this industry. He has shown his son how important hard work is. “Even though it can be a laid back profession and you aren’t being watched all of the time, you have to work hard and not waste time on the job,” says Moises. A mentor and a teacher to his son at home and at work, Moises is grateful to have this special bond with his son.
