A Special Delivery: Baby Born at Pilot Travel Center

We receive many deliveries each day at our stores, but our travel center in Greenfield, Indiana received an extra special delivery last month.

Jordan and Katherine Novick were anxiously waiting on the arrival of their baby boy. He wasn’t due for another few weeks, but on March 28th, he had other plans.

When Katherine began to go into labor, her husband rushed her and their daughter to meet her parents at the Pilot. Their grandparents had planned to watch their daughter while they were at the hospital, but it quickly became apparent that Katherine wasn’t going to be able to wait that long.

Within minutes of arriving at Pilot, Stephen Jordan Novick Jr. was born into his father’s arms in the parking lot of Pilot Travel Center #30.

One of our team members called 911 and gave them a blanket while they waited. In no time, emergency responders were there caring for Katherine and her healthy baby boy, Stephen.

To celebrate, another one of our awesome team members offered coffee and cigars to Jordan and his father-in-law.

The Novick’s are officially part of a special club of families that have delivered babies at our Pilot and Flying J travel centers. They will always have a special place in our hearts.

To welcome their bundle of joy, we asked the family to join us on a Zoom call for a surprise once they were settled in. It was fun to catch up with the sweet family and reflect on their unexpected Pilot delivery.

(spoiler alert): To help with all the sleepless nights ahead, we gifted both parents free coffee for a year. Yes, free Pilot coffee every day! We gave it to them as a gift card, so that they can choose to use it when they are able. We also had some gifts for their little ones and sent them a gift basket filled with toys and baby essentials.

Even in difficult times, there are so many positive moments to be found. Congratulations Novick family! It’s a special delivery that they and Store #30 will never forget.
