Lending a helping hand during critical times of need has always been a core value at Pilot Company – ingrained from the very first store opened by our Founder, Mr. Jim Haslam II. From our $1.7 million in donations last month to the American Heart Association to a pledged $500,000 donations to school districts in our travel center communities for 2022, Pilot Flying J is committed to giving back and supporting others in every way we can. That’s why we’ve decided to launch a round-up campaign for those hurting in Ukraine, matching donations of up to $100,000. For the next 18 days, Pilot will be partnering with Save the Children to help provide humanitarian aid and relief to the people of Ukraine.
Guests can round up their purchases, which will directly go to Save the Children in providing children and families with immediate aid, including food, water, hygiene kids, cash assistance, and psychosocial support.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by the international crisis in Ukraine. We are deeply saddened by the effects of this conflict and are doing a roundup in our stores to help raise funds for Save the Children that will go towards immediate assistance for Ukrainian children and families. We will be matching up to $100,000 of donations raised as part of our commitment to giving back to our communities on a local and global scale. – Shameek Konar, CEO of Pilot Company
Save the Children has been helping provide relief to Ukrainians since 2014, offering lifesaving assistance for those fleeing the conflict amidst below-freezing temperatures and harsh conditions. Just last year, the organization was able to reach more than 523,000 people. They are currently prioritizing cash and voucher assistance so families can purchase food and other essentials in addition to essential supplies and winter kids including clothing, blankets, and shelter.
The Ukraine Round-Up starts today, March 16, and will end midnight on Sunday, April 3. Guests can visit any Pilot Flying J or travel center operated in the U.S. and round up their purchase via pin-pad messaging.
