Next week marks the launch of our third annual Road Warrior ™ campaign, which will kick off during this year’s Driver Appreciation Week (September 11-17) to celebrate and reward professional drivers for their hard work and passion for their craft.
The contest, which begins on September 12, 2016, and ends on December 31, 2016, calls for stories about professional drivers and spotlights those who go the extra mile and persevere to get the job done right.
As part of the campaign, select nominated professional drivers across the country will be rewarded for their service. You can nominate a driver you know, or nominate yourself if you are a driver (so long as you’re a U.S. resident). Our 2016 Road Warrior contest will award three lucky drivers with the following prizes:
• Grand Prize: $10,000
• Runner Up: $5,000
• Second Runner Up: $2,500
Last year, Pilot Flying J named Oceanside, California resident Erik Michaels as its 2015 Road Warrior ™ grand prize winner. After more than 40 years as a long haul driver, Michaels endured a major stroke while on the job, causing temporary paralysis and loss of motor skills. Just recently, Michaels made a full recovery and is back to doing what he loves most – driving professionally.
We hear the incredible stories of professional drivers going the extra mile to get the job done every day, and we know there are many of you out there.
