Celebrating the Women that Keep us Moving on International Women’s Day

Today is International Women’s Day – a global day that celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women across the world.

Today and every day, we are proud to honor the women who inspire us and make the world a better place. Whether it is being a leader at work or at home, we celebrate the achievements and impact that women have on our country, communities, families and across every industry. We are taking a moment on this International Women’s Day to reflect on the women in our life and recognize how they keep us all moving forward.

One of the ways we connect and celebrate women year-round is through our Women’s Network program. Women’s Network promotes professional and personal growth for all team members, featuring online workshops, guest speakers and serving as a resource group for advice and support to help inspire members to become their best selves at home and in the workplace.

“The Women’s Network at Pilot Company aims to bring together women and men from across our organization to connect, collaborate, and celebrate each other’s successes, and provide helpful education and mentorship on various topics for team members’ benefit. In a male predominant industry, the Women’s Network allows team members an opportunity to connect with women colleagues and leaders across various departments and roles, who would not otherwise have an outlet to do so,” said Abby Yates, Assistant Brand Marketing Manager and Women’s Network member.

There are many incredible women at Pilot and throughout the industry that all deserve our recognition and appreciation. We wouldn’t be where we are or who we are without you! In honor of International Women’s Day, we are excited to highlight two exceptional and hardworking women of Pilot whom reflect the spirit and dedication of our team.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

“For me, it is a day to reflect and recognize being a woman, the improvements that have been made towards women’s rights and equality, as well as seeing the opportunity to continue making further improvements in the lives of all women.”

How do you hope to help other women feel supported and celebrated?

“I think it’s really important to have a group or multiple groups of women who support, empower and motivate you. We all have to encourage ourselves to be advocates for ourselves and other women. This has to be started at a young age. I hope that I do that for my peers and my daughters.”

What are your favorite resources that support your well-being and goals?

“Daily devotional to start the day. Additionally, I lean into those who are closest to me. I get the motivation, guidance, and advice I need from my mother, my friends and my daughters.”
