It’s no secret that moms are amazing. From offering a piece of advice to working long hours at home and at work, moms wear a lot of different hats and always do it so gracefully. They are amazing in more ways than one and we are very appreciative of them.
We are honored to have many hard working moms in our stores and at our support center. Two of our awesome team members at Store #650 shared what they love about being a mom:
Holly
“My journey as a working mom started in 2004 when I had my first of six children. I was a new mom trying to take care of a newborn and focus on my career at the same time. Both required just as much attention and time, especially since I was just promoted to shift manager with more responsibilities. Through the years what I’ve learned is the 80/20 rule. You can’t always be there for everything, but need to be there for what’s most important. As a mom, we often feel guilty for not making every game or school outing. So the 80/20 rule reminds me to be there for the most important dates and times, and to discuss these with the children as to what is important to them. I’ve learned over these years that communication and talking to the children about their feelings and me working is key. It wasn’t easy at first trying to figure home and work life out but along the way with patience and guidance anything is possible. Don’t forget to show gratitude along the way and support your team whether that is at work or home as well.”

“Being a working mom to me means the joy of coming home from work every day with all the kids running up to me and giving me hugs and asking me how work was that day. This also includes making sure that all their work is done for the day from school, considering COVID-19 going on right now. Spending time with them after everything is done such as dinner, homework and chores is the best part of the day. Seeing them laugh and grow is the best thing ever. Everything I think I need to get done in one day doesn’t always happen but I try my best as a mom and a hard working employee. Advice I would give other moms is there is never enough time in one day but if you don’t get everything done, that’s okay because your kids are only kids once so spend as much time with them as you can before they grow up!”
Thank you Holly, Liz and all moms for everything you do. Happy Mother’s Day!
