Our annual Road Warrior contest is back and so is the chance to win up to $10,000.
Each year, we look forward to the Road Warrior contest as a way to show appreciation and recognize professional drivers for their tireless work and dedication. Don’t miss the opportunity to nominate these ‘heroes on the road’ for their outstanding contributions to the trucking industry and our economy.
Entering the Road Warrior contest is easy. Visit RoadWarrior.PilotFlyingJ.com between July 8 – 21 to share the story and photo of a professional driver you’d like to nominate as a Road Warrior. Nominations can be submitted by anyone, including yourself.
In August, we will announce the top three finalists and share their inspiring stories for the public to vote online for the grand prize winner, receiving the title of 2019 Road Warrior and $10,000. Second and third place will also be awarded $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.
You can win too! If your nomination is selected as one of the finalists, you’ll be awarded $500 for sharing their story with us.
The final results and grand prize winner will be announced during Driver Appreciation Week in September.
Last year’s grand prize winner, Victoria Andrade, impressed us with her perseverance, dedication and charisma. She began working at UPS as a part-time car washer to help support her eight siblings and pay for her college education. After graduating, she remained with UPS and worked her way up to be the first female in South Texas to become a feeder driver for UPS.
“It’s truly a privilege and honor to be part of the Road Warriors. I was beyond words to receive such recognition for my daily efforts,” said Andrade. “I was sincerely surprised and in shock that that I had been chosen as the 2018 Road Warrior! It was like a dream.”
She also had some words of advice for her fellow drivers.
“To my peers on the road, I say stay focused, be aware of your surroundings and take pride in your daily work schedule. Remain true to yourself and lead by example, but always stay humble. Be a team player and always lend a hand to others. Always strive to do better and determination is key – never give up.”
