When our nation’s duty calls, our armed forces deliver. That’s why we’re honored to embrace moments where we can help fuel their journey. Especially when our military men and women are overseas during the Independence Day holiday.
On the Fourth of July, families celebrate and enjoy what this day embodies: freedom. We wouldn’t have all the privileges we have today if it were not for our military. So, it was our pleasure to send a ‘piece of America’ to one, in particular, Kent McCaha, a U.S. Air Force Firefighter, and his troops, when he reached out to us with the below note:
“Hello – First off, let me say how much I love your stores. Having one within walking distance of my home is wonderful. I’m currently deployed to the Middle East with the U.S. Air Force as a firefighter. I ‘gotta say the coffee sucks here. I was wondering if your company would be willing to send us a care package with coffee. Thanks for your time.”
We were honored to send Kent and his Airmen a care package that included: snacks, Pilot Flying J hats, mugs, cups, and 50 Ibs of coffee – that should produce approximately 1,200 cups of coffee!
Everyone in the Pilot Flying J family recognizes our freedoms and wants to thank everyone who has served our nation. We hope that a warm cup of our coffee reminds you of our most comforting places and memories at home!
