We “Fuel Good” When We Give: It’s What We Do

Life’s journey is never-ending. While it’s important to be doing our best at work and at home, we equally enjoy taking the time to do something meaningful and purposeful for our community.

Last month, we celebrated ‘National Volunteer Week’ by giving back and making a positive difference in the lives of our neighbors. Over the course of two days, 408 of our team members joined together to support 15 different organizations. Together, we dedicated more than 1,400 hours of service to the greater Knoxville community and we “fueled” good doing it.

Our team members worked together to address real community needs. By contributing our time and effort to help organizations with projects like landscaping, building, painting and event preparation, we enable those non-profits to focus their energy on serving those affected by hunger, intellectual disabilities and much more.

What’s beautiful about this experience was that we were able to fuel our community and our team members – one act of compassion at a time. We love to see our team members healthy and happy. That’s why we encourage our team members to volunteer. It’s never too late to serve your community. According to Help Guide, here are a few perks of volunteering:

  • It Builds Up Your Leadership Skills – No matter if you are a seasoned leader, wanting to reconnect with your passion for leadership. Or, a newbie wanting to put your leadership skills to the test, becoming a volunteer leader is the perfect experience for you!
  • It Supports the Giving Momentum –When you take the time to give, it inspires others to do the same.
  • It “Fuels” Your Happy Meter – See for yourself below. Need more proof?

Each year, our spirit of philanthropy magnifies; bringing us closer to our roots of giving back. Want to learn more about why we give back? Click here.
