We always aim to keep a close eye on industry trends to ensure we’re providing best-in-class service. As we head into 2017, we wanted to share with you – our pro driver community – how we’re updating our offerings based on the latest industry pain points and topics.
Parking:
As we all know, parking continues to be a major. This year, we made large investments to explore new parking features and increase the number of spaces we offer for professional drivers. As a result, we increased our total number of parking spaces by more than 1,300.
We’re also opening new Pilot and Flying J locations in the areas where you need us most, and exploring ways to provide drivers with easier access to parking availability and reservations in 2017.
Driver Shortage & Driver Retention:
We’re taking responsibility for our role in helping solve this issue by promising to provide drivers with the goods, services and experiences that help make their day-to-day job easier. This includes upgrades to our WiFi, website and myPilot ™ mobile app to provide drivers with better technology that drives a better experiences. We’ve also made upgrades to many of our store locations and even expanded our myRewards ™ program to give drivers personalized offers and added loyalty benefits.
Roadside Service:
For fleets of all sizes, maintaining equipment is a top priority. But for fleets with fewer trucks, it’s often one of the most important (and challenging) parts of your business. Breakdowns due to tire or brake problems can turn into major issues that take drivers off the road and are expensive to repair. In the past, we’ve offered repair shops at some of our locations, but we’ve lacked true roadside assistance. We’ve relied on third parties to assist drivers.
We’re changing that in 2017 with the unveiling of our own shops and roadside assistance program focused on fuel, accessory and tire replacement, and maintenance. More to come in 2017.
